The Colts also known as Wokingham Warriors are the youth section of Wokingham Hockey Club. The section comprises of c.100 young people whose ages range from 6 to 17.

This large and thriving part of the club is separated into age groups and where numbers allow abilities within those age groups. One of our core aims is to ensure that all our members fulfil their potential. No where is this more important than in our colts section. We are immensely proud of the development we have seen in players throughout our colts section and our coaches are committed to providing the safest and most enjoyable learning environment for your child, so that they too can become a rising star within the club, the county and even the country.

All of our coaches are volunteers but this does not mean that are not professional. We have two level 2 coaches (head coaches), both of which are in the process of gaining their level 3 – the top coaching award in the country. We also have 7 level 1 coaches(assistant coaches) – an unparrelled number. Backing these coaches up is an army of committed and experienced hockey players.

The season begins with an open day (traditionally in at the beginning of September) the colts then meet weekly on Sunday morning all through the year until the middle of March. There is then a colts celebration, last year we went bowling and played laser quest with almost 70 young people. Most teams will play between 5 and 10 games in the season against local opposition and all teams will follow a structured development laid out by our director of coaching and endorsed by England Hockey.
