The Colts, also known as Wokingham Warriors, are the youth section of Wokingham Hockey Club. The section comprises of around 100 young people whose ages range from 5 to 16.

This large and thriving part of the club is separated into age groups and, where numbers allow, abilities within these age groups. One of our core aims is to ensure that all our members fulfill their potential and there is nowhere this is more important than in our Colts section. We are
immensely proud of the development we have seen in players throughout our Colts section and our coaches are committed to providing the safest and most enjoyable learning environment for your child. This is so they too can become a rising star within the club, the county and even the country.

All of our coaches are volunteers but this does not mean that they are not professional. Our head coach is Level 2 and also in the process of gaining Level 3 – the top coaching award in the country. We also have several Level 1 coaches/assistant coaches and backing these coaches up is an army of committed and experienced hockey players.

The season begins with an open day at the beginning of September. Colts then meet weekly on Sunday mornings, except during school holidays, throughout the year until the middle of March. During the season there are some fun themed Colts sessions and at the end of season there is a Colts celebration. U8s/U10s/U12s play in the monthly Thames Valley Tournaments during the season, while the U14s/U16s Girls and Senior Boys have several games against local clubs throughout the season. All teams follow a structured development, which is laid out by our Head Coach and endorsed by England Hockey.
